TIMELY FASHION – The Kelps gave DreamMaker their ideas and a deadline, and the company delivered! Kirk and Ashley are 'so very pleased' with their new contemporary kitchen design and all of its fantastic features.
Kirk and Ashley Kelp's home in Amarillo had been in their family for several generations. Rich in sentimentality but short on style, the kitchen was overdue for an update.
The Kelps dreamed of a contemporary space with modern features that would make life easier for their young family of four.
"We knew almost exactly what we wanted our kitchen to look like," Ashley says, "but we needed a professional to come up with a design that would be functional and practical, too."

The Kelps sat down with DreamMaker interior designer Heidi Wyatt to share ideas and photos they'd collected for inspiration. As a 3-D computer rendering began to take shape, the couple watched opportunities unfold for more space and more features. They decided to enlarge the opening between the narrow kitchen and the dining room, which would allow for some width, a seven-foot island, and extra seating. Suddenly, the design starting looking like the dream kitchen they had envisioned.
The Kelps had a strict deadline for DreamMaker to meet, and they did, with days to spare! The completed kitchen is unbelievably different – so different, that when Ashley explains the remodel to friends who haven't seen it yet, they can't even visualize such a dramatic change.
Some of the Kelp's favorite features include a wet bar with ice maker, heated tile floors, granite countertops, pull-out refrigerator drawers, a glass mosaic backsplash, and modern light fixtures.
Ashley says, "We're so very pleased with how it turned out. It looks like something you'd see in a design magazine. It's our dream kitchen!"
